COMPOSITION :

Each ml contains :

Artemether                80mg

CATEGORY : Antimalarial agents

INDICATIONS : Cerebral Malaria, Chloroquine resistant

Plasmodium falciparum malaria and multidrug resistant malaria

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION :

Adults : Orally : 160mg in two divided doses on first day followed by 80mg od for next 4 days

Inj.  80mg bd IM on the first day then 80mg od for the next four days. Alternatively 80mg bd IM inj. for 3 days can also be given.

Children : Inj. : 1.6mg /kg twice a day by IM Inj. on the first day and 1.6mg/kg once a day for next four days or 1.6mg/kg twice a day IM Inj. for 3 days.

ADVERSE EFFECTS : Decrease in reticulocyte count, rise of ALAT and ASAT may occur.

CONTRAINDICATIONS : Artemether is contraindicated in :

v      Prenant and lactating women

v      Persons with known hypersensitivity to either of the components.

PACKING : 10 Ampoules packed in plastic tray enclosed in a box.

PRESENTATION : Available in 80mg/ml

STORAGE : Container, protected from light and stored in a cool place
